The Essex countryside is ideal for cycling with its gentle gradients and abundance of country lanes, byways and bridleways within easy reach of the towns. Essex County Council is promoting cycling throughout the county in partnership with local councils, the sustainable cycling charity Sustrans and other user groups. We are continuing to improve and adding further facilities for cyclists across the county.
