Adult Community Learning has launched a new website.

The new site includes some great new features including a course search facility and can be found at www.essexcc.gov.uk/adultlearning.

ESOL - A New Approach

The document - A New Approach to English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) published in May 2009 builds on the responses made to the ESOL consultation in 2008 to enable local ESOL provision to have a greater focus on social inclusion and community cohesion. It set out a greater role for local authorities in working with the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), providers and other partners to identify and meet the needs of the most vulnerable people in their area who need to improve their English skills.
