Over the next four years Essex County Council will be awarding twelve £100,000 grants to projects that will make a considerable difference to communities in each district of Essex.

The People's £100K Community Chest is specifically for local community groups. The initiative gives them the opportunity to bid for a significant cash boost and gives you the opportunity to have your say, and ultimately make the decision on which local projects should be funded.

During 2009/10 the fund will award three grants to initiatives which will benefit individual communities in the districts of Harlow, Castle Point and Tendring.  Specific wards in each of the three districts are eligible to apply for the grants, these are as follows:

  1. Castle Point Borough - Thundersley (St. George's, St. Peter's and Cedar Hall wards)
  2. Harlow District - Church Langley and Potter Street wards
  3. Tendring District - Walton ward

Essex County Council wants your ideas. We want to make it happen for local projects. But we can't do it without your involvement.
