There are many reasons why children are placed in our care.

We need all kinds of people to become adoptive parents and foster carers for all types of children

ADOPTION is a way of becoming the legal parent of a child or children who can't live with their birth parents or other members of their extended family. It is only with adoption that you become a child's parents.

FOSTERING means caring for someone else's child or children. It involves taking care of them for a few days or months or sometimes until they grow up.

PRIVATE FOSTERING is when a child or young person under 16 (or 18 if they have a disability) is looked after for 28 days or more by someone who is not a close relative or guardian. By law children's services must be informed about all private fostering arrangements
