The Essex County Council Quality of Life Unit was one of the first of its kind to be established in the country. Its aims are to:

• encourage people to become more involved in their community
• promote opportunities for people to enjoy their free time
• ensure that economic growth is sustainable for future generations
• work with partners to enhance what we do
