Essex County Council?s Essex Innovation Programme team and the University of Essex are working together to help local companies maximise business growth opportunities.
Essex County Council's (ECC) Passenger Transport Co-ordination Centre and Procurement team are working together to pilot an e-Auction within Education Transport 2010 Tender Round 2 after investigating the benefits of using this tool in order to enhance their current tender processes.

Essex County Council's 2010 Snow Summit is the first nationally-focused conference of its kind to examine the implications of cold weather on the UK's infrastructure and resources.
The local authorities in the "Heart of Essex" which covers the Boroughs and Districts of Braintree, Brentwood, Chelmsford and Maldon have been commissioned by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) to provide quarterly reports on economic and business conditions, highlighting strengths and weaknesses in different parts of the area...

Swine flu may be making the headlines, but Business Continuity planning is about being prepared for all sorts of events and/or incidents that could impact your business: flooding, loss of power, loss of IT and phones, loss of staff due to bad weather or sickness.
Essex is a hub of business and enterprise. It is already home to over 55,000 businesses, providing work for local people and bringing money into the county. With a GVA of more than £20 billion, Essex has an economy larger than 136 independent countries.
A delegation from Jiangsu Province, China, of 12 software/ICT sector businesses, 3 software industry parks and 2 software industry training institutions, will visit Essex as part of the two-way trade and investment links between Essex and Jiangsu.
