Situated in Loughton Library, the National Jazz Archive consists of printed material relating to jazz music - especially British.
The archive was founded by Digby Fairweather and was opened in 1988 by it's patron, the late Charles Fox. It is run by a committee of representatives from Essex libraries, the National Sound Archive, the British Institute of Jazz Studies and Jazz Services.

There are books, discographies, magazines, photographs and other printed material in the Archive.

It's open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between 10.00am and 1.00 pm.
