Essex County Council is currently designing a footbridge over the railway line near Braintree Station.

It will create a link between the residential areas to the west and the leisure and retail facilities, hospital and railway station to the east. The scheme will also assist in promoting sustainable transport and reducing private car use.

An exhibition on the scheme is being held between the 18th and 28th November 2009. This exhibition will give members of the public the opportunity to view the scheme in greater detail and also talk to members of the project team.
