The Essex Planning Officers' Association has produced this guide to assist planners, applicants and anyone else with an interest to find their way through the complexities of legislation and rules concerning the application of EIA to developments which may have a significant effect on the environment.
According to the Royal Town Planning Institute, "it is currently the only comprehensive up-to-date guide to environmental assessment in the United Kingdom".
The guide will be useful to local authorities, planning consultants, developers, environmental consultees, non-governmental organisations, students, researchers and members of the public with an interest in environmental assessment.
