Access Records

Essex County Council - Social Care makes and keeps records about people who receive our services or who have used our services in the past. Under the Data Protection Act 1998 subject access rights have been established.

If you would like to exercise your right to obtain copies of your personal information you will need to complete the Subject Access Request form.

Once you have completed the Subject Access Request form please email it to access.records@essexcc.gov.uk. Alternatively you can download a copy of the form and post it to: The Access to Records Co-ordinator, PO BOX 297, County Hall, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1YS. Once we have received proof of your identity (e.g. passport, driving licence, birth certificate, benefits book), original documents will be returned to you by recorded post. We take no responsibility for items being lost in the post during their return to you, and regret that we are unable to return documentation by courier services.
