The document shown to the right is the sixth annual report on the management of Heath and Safety in Essex County Council. It is presented in the context of the Government's "Revitalising Health and Safety" initiative which placed a requirement on all public bodies, including local authorities, to report on their health and safety performance and plans.
The report is in line with Health and Safety Commission guidance on annual reporting of health and safety performance by employers. Whilst that guidance focused primarily on the private sector it is considered that it is of equal value to the public sector and the report follows the suggested format.
