Following the request by Central Government to conserve salt, Essex County Council has taken the following course of action to meet the request whilst trying to ensure the best possible service is still delivered to our residents:
- Between Monday to Friday our normal winter precautionary network will be operated.
- From Friday evening to Sunday evening a reduced network will be operated. Documents provided on the right for an indication of routes.
Information will be made available of any planned changes to this proposal. Salt levels are being monitored daily and should stock levels fall below a defined amount it may be necessary to introduce the reduced salting network on a permanent basis. Short notice changes may occur and we will endeavour to keep this website up to date
Motorways and trunk roads, such as M25, M11, A12 and A120 are administered by the Highways Agency (0300 1235000). The A130 Chelmsford to Benfleet is administered by County Route (0845 351130).
