In a radical step to reduce CO2 emissions, Essex County Council is considering changing its policy of keeping street lighting on all night long.
A pilot scheme for switching off selective lighting between the hours of 12:00 and 5:00 has now been proposed for the areas of Maldon and Uttlesford.
The scheme started in January 2007.
Lists showing the streets which are to be included in the trial of part night lighting, can be viewed by selecting the relevant link from the menu on the left.
Copies of the plans have been issued to each Parish and District Council.
