Introduction to the scheme
The Buy With Confidence scheme is a good trader scheme set up to help consumers to find reputable local businesses. In the first instance, it is open to businesses who wish to be approved by ECC Adult Social Care, renewable energy businesses and other businesses offering energy saving goods and services, such as home insulation companies or businesses set up to sell energy saving products such as low wattage light bulbs, with premises in the areas covered by Essex County Council, or the unitary authorities of Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock. The scheme is run by a partnership of local Trading Standards Services. There is a Buy With Confidence website where businesses can find out more about joining the scheme and consumers can find an approved trader.
