Essex County Council, like other transport authorities in the country, has to prepare a Local Transport Plan (LTP) and submit it to central government for assessment in order to get funding for transport schemes.
The Plan identifies wide-reaching schemes to improve the transport network for the whole of the county.
The Plan we have submitted to central Government in 2005 will run from 2006 to 2011. A key part of the process of writing the plan was consultation, and the results of the exercises undertaken were collated and analysed to enable their contribution to the plan to be fully considered before inclusion in the finished document.
