The Essex Safeguarding Children Board is the statutory organisation responsible for:

• Coordinating what is done by organisations in Essex for the purposes of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

and

• Ensuring the effectiveness of what is done for this purpose

The Board provides information and advice on safeguarding for professionals, parents and carers and children and young people. The Board works in conjunction with the Safeguarding Boards for Southend and Thurrock to produce the multi agency child protection procedures that apply across these three areas - 'The SET Procedures'.
